After 13 years of company growth and expansion at Caspak it was time to move on and grow even greater into the future. Over the last two years Caspak have designed and built a new processing and logistics facility that aligns with our sustainable values and will help the company continue to innovate, expand and succeed.
We have said farewell to our Woodlands Estate premises as we move into our newly constructed building off Canterbury Road, Braeside. We will now all be under the one roof with our logistics and distribution centre and manufacturing teams who moved into their new facilities in May. The rest of the Melbourne-based team began the move from 9th June and will be fully in the office once restrictions lift.
At Caspak, we take our commitment to sustainability seriously which is why our new building includes solar panels, charging stations for our electric forklifts, a Tesla and other electric vehicles. It also includes strategically designed operable windows to allow more airflow and limit the need for air conditioning. The fully concrete warehouse and high quality ceiling tiles work with the fully insulated office to maximise insulation throughout. Our metalised sun blinds reflect solar in summer and retain heat in winter. Our carpet is made from RPET, our reception and outdoor furniture all from recycled materials.
As well as these great inclusions we focused on sustainable or recycled materials throughout construction that added lots to our new, green building. But we didn’t just build a new home to showcase our sustainable practices, we have also more than doubled our pallet bays to over 2,000 in our distribution centre. And, the new building brings Caspak logistics and Seaford manufacturing under one roof to create streamlined operations as well as capacity to increase our locally manufactured product ranges. All this is working together to better service our customers.
We have had an amazing journey as a business in our Woodlands Estate premises but are excited to continue to grow our company into the future in our new state-of-the-art sustainable home.
Exciting Update: Our state-of-the-art sustainability-focused building was recognised as a Finalist in the 2020 Architecture & Design (Australia) Sustainability Awards
