Caspaks involvement as a lead sponsor for the Border Bicycle User Group (Bugs) in the 20th anniversary of the Annual Murray to Moyne (M2M) cycle fundraiser was a huge success. 3 teams of 4 riders participated in the 500km relay with each team cycling 25-35kms per leg before handing over to the next team.
Additionally, a group of senior riders from the Bordertown Bandaids returned to do the M2M to help celebrate the 20 year milestone and to show the younger bucks just how it is done!
They certainly added some class to the weekend. Both groups started from Mildura at 9am on Saturday morning arriving in Hamilton at 10pm for a few hours sleep then a 7am start out of Hamilton to cross the finish line around 10am in Port Fairy. Conditions were perfect with a light Northeasterly wind most of the way.
Stand out perfomances were Travis Hamptons record breaking 385km personal best, Trevor Butlers maiden 303km effort, Bill Bainger’s first Hamilton to Port Fairy non stop ride and Brad and Krysteen McElroy’s maiden Murray to Moyne.
The Bugs expect to have raised more than $30,000 for the Bordertown Health & Community Foundation… Another sterling effort from this crew whose all up donation telly stands at $400,000.
